At Wellmind Psychiatry, treatment goes beyond prescriptions. Dr Clevenger also feels access to the physician is important and provides prompt response to emails and is also available by phone/text for urgent matters.

Dr Clevenger has a focus on the issues listed below. However Dr Clevenger has training in a wide variety of conditions given his diverse training and practice history. Some patient with more severe conditions may be deemed requiring a higher level of care and either not be accepted by the practice or transitioned into in person care. Conditions such as dementia, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and severe developmental delay generally benefit from comprehensive team management only offered at major clinics such as academic centers.

The first appointment is catered towards getting a broad overview of the situation you are seeking help with and possible contributing factors. During our initial session you can expect to go over the following aspect of your life.
1)How long you have been dealing with your condition, how it has changed and where you stand at the time of intake.
2)Overview of your medical, mental health and substance use history as well as current status.
3)Overview of your social life including family, friends and engagement in the community/job.
4)Overview of your lifestyle including general aspect of nutrition, exercise and sleep.
5)Diagnosis and overview of what your diagnosis means.
6)Treatments, lifestyle recommendations and labs as appropriate at the conclusion of interview.
At the discretion of the doctor intake appointments are typically 60 minutes but may on occasion be scheduled for 90 minutes in particularly complex cases.
Here is a cost breakdown of my fees:
Intakes:
$425 base($500 for 90 minutes)
Follow ups:
$325 for 60 minutes
$265 for 30 minutes
$225 for 20 minutes
Dr Clevenger does offer sliding scale pricing(reduced fees) at his discretions, this is done in order to help ongoing patients when they may come across financial struggle or patients in specific temporary situations such as students where income is limited. Prior to offering such pricing documentation will likely be requested verifying the situation.

We require 48 hours cancellation notice. Cancellation fees will be assessed at the doctors discretion and are in the amount of $125 for missed appointments/late cancellations. This is done primarily to respect the time of other patients as the availability is often not plentiful for other patients to schedule. Dr Clevenger asks that you be mindful of not making appointments that will result in scheduling conflicts. Though we do send reminders it is the patients responsibility to keep track of appointments.
Wellmind Psychiatry predominantly operates via telepsychiatry appointments as this is what most patients prefer and allows for the greatest ease of my patients making their appointments. I do offer in person appointments in the following locations on a limited basis.

Polypharmacy is the prescription of excessive amount and doses of medication and it is an unfortunately common issue in psychiatry. Polypharmacy can lead to worse mental and physical health. Many psychiatric medications can have serious complications including diabetes, weight gain, high blood pressure and even cognitive decline. At Wellmind we fully embrace the utility of psychiatric medications but seek to utilize them in the minimally effective number and dose giving you the best long term quality of life. We also focus heavily on social and lifestyle factors that interact with your mental health as well as evidence based supplement use to improve your overall functioning in life.
